From KRONES service technician to independent partner of the beverage industry: the story of a family business from Merdingen.
The Jürgen Escher company for labelling and systems technology, service and trade, was founded in October 1997 by Jürgen Escher in Merdingen, near Freiburg im Breisgau. The founder gained his technical know-how and expertise at KRONES in Neutraubling: after his training he worked there as a service technician, in charge of customers mainly in France, South America and Eastern Europe.
From the start we have served our customers in the beverage, food and pharmaceutical industries: maintenance, repairs, spare-parts supply, change parts and complete new equipment, as well as the overhaul of used machines.
Years of experience abroad make it possible for our team to deliver to Europe and beyond.
Quality is our first consideration, closely followed by flexibility and professional service. Our goal is to fulfil our customers’ needs on schedule — with quick, competent solutions that save time and money.
Today we are a well-positioned team of 30 employees in service and administration — design and manufacturing under one roof.
As an independent, medium-sized company we offer a complete package of flexible service and spare-parts supply. Our warehouse keeps production-critical spare parts and assemblies in stock — and our established supplier network assures the delivery of parts on short notice.
Our customers have found our location in Merdingen ideal: short distances to France and Switzerland, fast logistics worldwide — and close to the region’s bottling plants.

The “Escher” family crest is drawn from the archive of the University Library of Freiburg im Breisgau and was made after the French armorial “Armorial général” by Rietstap. It was drawn by Fred Wetzel of Freiburg im Breisgau.
The blue escutcheon carries a golden cup with a golden star above it — symbols of faith and of shining glory. The helmet with open visor and the crest — an upright golden lion holding a cup in its paws — stand for courage and bravery.
The Escher line originally comes from Zurich and was first called “Escher vom Glas”. Managing director Jürgen Escher and his father Edmund Escher, a winegrower from Merdingen, belong to this family — so the cup in the crest carries a double meaning to this day.
